Dad Club Coordinator Call Out

We are looking for a Dad Club Coordinator here at Mossley Community Centre. It is a small role that we are hoping will have a big impact connecting local parents to one of our Early Years services – Dad Club.

8 hours per month

£14 per hour (£112 per month)

Freelance Contract (Fixed Term until August 2029)

About The Role

Over the last year, a dedicated group of volunteers, have worked to develop a bi-monthly group at the centre called ‘Dads Club’ with the aim of giving male identifying care givers a safe and supportive space to bring their children at the weekend, and meet their peers in parenting!

The group sits within the centres growing Early Years offer and is supported through Best Start For Life Funding. 

We would like to develop this group further and are looking for a Dad Club Coordinator to help us to do this. We envisage the Dad Club Coordinator to be the ‘go to’ face for those who attend the group. They will be responsible for organising the sessions, safe guarding and risk assessment of the group, activity planning and promoting the session. We would like to see this role being fulfilled by a local Dad, or someone who is embedded in the community and local ‘Dad Culture’.
The Dad Club Coordinator, will be an active facilitator within the session, helping Dads play & connect with their little one through age appropriate play.

This job will be supported by the Early Years Facilitator and full paid training will be given.

Core Responsibilities

• Facilitate a Dad Club session on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month. The sessions run from 9:45am – 11:15am so you will need to be available from approximately 9:15am – 11:45am to cover set up and pack down.
• Promote and advocate for the session mainly via social media but also through any events or networking opportunities that you feel are appropriate
• Plan small activities to be delivered within the sessions
• Plan and facilitate a Dad’s Social once every two months
• Understand Safe Guarding and be willing to be the designated Safe Guarding Lead for the group
• Understand Risk Assessment and be able to make decisions informed by this knowledge whilst running the group
